Diagnosis
The day that I went for my 9-year check-up the doctor told me to bend over and touch my toes. She noticed that my back wasn't the same height on both sides. She told me to go see an orthopedist. The orthopedist took an x-ray of my back. When the x-ray was done he saw that my spine was in an S shape. He gave my mom a name of a Spine Specialist.
The Next Doctor Said...
Soon I went to see Dr. M. He made me bend over and touch my toes as well. He took a look at the x-ray that the orthopedist took. He said I had something called Idiopathic Scoliosis. He gave my mom a prescription for a Boston Brace. Soon we went to get measured for the brace. About 3 weeks later we went to pick the brace up.
The Brace
When we got to the place to pick up the brace I fell into shock when I first saw it. I thought to myself Am I supposed to wear that thing? Will everyone laugh at me? Will I get called names? Will this change my life? Should I run away from this place? I put on the the brace a few times. The bracemaker adjusted the straps and told my mom how long I have to wear the brace before going onto wearing it full time.
 My Life With The Brace
Now I am wearing my brace full time which is 23/7. My life with the brace is much different than my life without the brace. My friend says that I am interesting with my brace. I don't know why but I'll find out soon enough. I am looking forward to getting rid of my brace for good but for now I'll have to deal.
